Quick Star Trek-style catman head sculpt. Now that I look at it, I guess he’s got a bit of a Kilrathi thing going.
It’s been a while since I touched ZBrush. I’m trying to get back in the swing of things and keep improving. Excelsior!

I’ve been playing Wind Waker, which is probs my favorite game ever. The art style is so effortlessly gorgeous, even after ten years (it helps to play it emulated and uprezzed to 1920x1440). Anyway, I felt like doing a little adventure guy.

This young lady’s from a story that’s been knocking around in my head for a while. I figure she’s from a planet originally colonized by South Indian corporations, but maybe their connection to the rest of the galaxy has been nil for several hundred years and people are living some kind of agrarian low-tech lifestyle.

Eww,  gross . Another assigned piece: we were given a phobia and instructed to create a monster based on it. I figured it’d be pretty terrible if people’s fears and insecurities about their bodies were made physical, so here we are.

This guy was the result of a rather silly assignment to take a character from the He-Man universe and put them in another environment. My choice: Beastman. I figured maybe he was an ethically-grey-area troublemaker working with an anarchist organization dedicated to the open-sourcing of the worlds’ genetic libraries. Maybe not as Beastman as he could have been, but fun to draw anyway.

Oh hey, I’m back y'all. I just completed a six-week project for school, creating characters, props, and environments. So much drawing, I had to bandage my fingers! I’ll be posting some excerpts here over the next several days, so stay tuned.
Also, the text descriptions accompanying these were written in the eleventh hour, by which I mean 2AM last night after three straight days of nothing but sitting at home drawing, which is to say that they’re not all very good so cut me some slack if you will.
PS Here’s a detail shot of her inappropriately ornate knife:

I ended up liking this line art better than the finished painting. More practice!
